Getting Certified as a Profit First Professional

Last week I talked about how I dove into Profit First. Last year, I officially became a Certified Profit First Professional. What exactly does that entail?

Well, aside from reading the book, I also went through training to understand and learn the Profit First Cash methodology. Then after implementing it into my own company, I began implementing it with my clients, working out little kinks along the way. Once I got a firm hold on the process and created a structured workflow for my team, I passed the Profit First exam and officially became Certified and part of an exclusive community of professionals that are committed to “eradicating entrepreneurial poverty”.

Our driving force, MY driving force, is to help entrepreneurs gain financial freedom by paying themselves first!

How do we go about doing that?

Most of us run our businesses in the most common way… We sell and bring in cash, we buy things to keep us selling, and what’s left over at the end of the year is our profit.

Imagine changing the narrative to something along the lines of… we make sales and bring in cash, put aside our profit (first…), and use what’s left over for expenses.

Atypical? Yes. However, this is a really practical way of budgeting, spending, and reigniting our business goals by prioritizing our profit, not surviving off what is left after our expenses.

Honestly, why should entrepreneurs get the leftovers from their company? Should they not get the first fruits of their labor? This is where Profit First really shines. From day one of implementation, we start focusing on paying yourself and making your company profitable.

Next week I share how I implemented this idea into Pivot Business Group. In the meantime…

Are you ready to have you more money in your pocket? Let’s talk.
